Kathalaya will be conducting a Intensive course in story-telling from July 20th, 2009
Course Contents and Details
The "Academy of Storytelling" is now in its third year having established itself as a part of Kathalaya in 2006. It has designed a new perspective to include new dimensions of learning to its existing ‘Certificate Course’- to strengthen and empower storytellers professionally.
The course would include skills and techniques required for presentation, documentation and application skills to hone Storytelling professionally. The participants will have practical classes to present their stories at the end of the course and will be evaluated before the certificate is given.
We have completed over 10 batches of storytelling now at our center and the participants have been successful in taking storytelling to schools, activity centers, training, better parenting, financial management, advertising, theater, filmmaking, script writing, journalism, special education, art, music, housekeeping, library maintenance, corporates, academicians, teachers and to better themselves individually.

- Voice, Mime and Body language as a tool of communication.
- Theater and role play
- Creative expressions and creating stories.
- Picture stories-types of Chitrakathas
- Puppetry in storytelling.
- Mask for storytelling
- Origami in storytelling.
- Styles of telling and history.
- Unearthing one’s own stories
- Story planning formats and Presentations
Timings : 9.30 AM-1.30 PM. (3 to 4 days) .
Fees : Rs. 5000/-
The course fee includes materials, resource book, story files and tea and snacks. .
